Johor Port Bhd has contributed RM1mil to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia’s (UTM) endowment fund to help underprivileged students get an education.
UTM acting chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Ahmad Fauzi Ismail said with the latest contribution, the number of students receiving scholarships from the higher learning institution is expected to increase as well.
He said since 2013, the port has channelled RM6mil to UTM as part of a memorandum of agreement signed between the two parties.
Since the agreement signed on March 11,2013, the port had contributed RM5mil over a period of five years, he said. ....
