The Bac Giang Garment Corporation (LGG) in northern Vietnam is experiencing a major labor shortage with only 10 percent of its employees working. CEO Luu Tien Chung said at a recent meeting that most of LGG’s employees are isolated at home, with the province being the second largest Covid-19 hotspot in the country behind Ho Chi Minh City. ....

According to local authorities, up to 117 mm of rain overloaded local drainage systems. Many families have reported flood water of some 15-35 centimetres inside their houses. Many roads and streets in the area have also been put under water. Le Thanh Street experienced 80 centimetres of water.
