Doha: One year after its official opening, Daam Specialized Care Center continues to see remarkable developments and offer comprehensive healthcare services through effective collaboration and communication between patients and family members and the healthcare professionals involved in their care.
Daam Specialized Care Center was named after the ‘Social and Sports Activities Support Fund (Daam) in recognition of the generous support from the Fund and its role in the establishment of Daam Specialized Care Center as a key partner in the development and advancement of the health sector.

A week after Qatar rolled out the COVID-19 vaccination campaign, no serious side effects of the vaccine have been found in people who took the jab.
“One week has passed since the first COVID-19 vaccine has been given in Qatar and the post- vaccine surveillance showed that no serious side effects have been reported,” the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) said in a statement.
It, however, added that a small number of those vaccinated reported very modest side effects, including low-grade fever, mild headache, fatigue and soreness at the injection site, which is commonly seen with other vaccines. ....

HMC administers Covid-19 vaccine to older long-term care residents

Doha: Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) commenced with vaccinating the first group of long-term care patients from Daam Specialized Care Center as part of the national programme to protect the most vulnerable members of the population.
The Daam Specialized Care Center, which was officially opened in January 2020 and is managed by Rumailah Hospital, provides continuous care to elderly patients who no longer need to be in hospital but require long-term, inpatient medical care. The families of patients who were deemed by the medical team to be ready for vaccination were consulted prior to administering the first COVID-19 dose. Other long-term residents in Enaya Specialized Care Facility and the Rumailah Hospital Residential Care Compound are also receiving the vaccine this week. ....
