The Mount Jackson Board of Zoning Appeals voted unanimously on Monday night to approve a variance for two 72-foot silos for Bowman Andros Products, LLC. The two silos will be used to store granular sugar. Dan Hillman, a plant manager for Bowman Andros, said that the company has started construction for a new factory, which will include the two silos, on the northwestern corner of the company property on 10119 Old Valley Pike, Mount Jackson. We are moving into a new business, Hillman said at Monday evening s BZA meeting. Currently we do applesauces, most of the town is aware of that. We re expanding into another market, doing fruit fillings with a variety of different fruits. That construction is currently under way with a 155,000 square foot facility here in our very own Mount Jackson. A large portion of the material and raw material used in our factory will be granular sugar. ....
