Deputies: Randolph teen nearly escaped after arrest
WINCHESTER, Ind. Randolph County sheriff s deputies said a Modoc teenager tried to escape from a police car after being arrested last week.
The events leading to 18-year-old Dalton Allon Roland s capture on Feb. 23 began when a deputy observed Roland driving a Ford Escape, with a malfunctioning muffler, in Modoc.
When the deputy tried to pull the vehicle over, it stopped in front of a house in the 100 block of North Main Street. Roland reportedly got out of the vehicle and began to walk away.
When the deputy shouted for the teen to return, Roland allegedly ran into the house. He later came outside and reportedly struggled with the deputy, at least twice trying to run away, before being subdued. ....
