This month, June 2021, Roy Morgan Business Confidence is down 1pt (-0.8%) to 128.3. Despite the fall Business Confidence is a massive 33.3pts (+35.1%) higher than a year ago in June 2020 (95.0). The Business Confidence result for June is based on interviewing conducted before the Sydney-wide lockdown and the latest restrictions introduced in several States announced over the weekend.
Business Confidence in June 2021 was 14.4pts above the long-term average of 113.9 with nearly two-thirds of businesses, 64.8%, expecting ‘good times’ for the Australian economy over the next 12 months and a clear majority of 58.4% saying the next 12 months is a ‘good time to invest in growing the business’. ....

The Tasmanian Liberals were on track to form government on Saturday evening, with Premier Peter Gutwein claiming victory.
The election - which is the fourth time a state government has faced voters since the COVID-19 pandemic began - is being watched closely in Canberra for indications of whether, or to what extent, the Apple Isle’s three marginal seats could swing at the next federal poll.

Property industry welcomes funding commitment for ‘Girls in Property’ program
The Property Council of Australia has welcomed a $25,000 funding commitment from the Tasmanian Liberals, if re-elected, to help fund a pilot program of the ‘Girls in Property’ initiative for Tasmanian high school students.
The Girls in Property program, which has been run in mainland states by the Property Council, raises awareness amongst high school students about the raft of career paths available in the property industry.
Property Council of Australia’s Tasmanian Division Executive Director, Rebecca Ellston said the program is aimed at encouraging greater female participation in the property industry. ....
