Excelsior Correspondent KATHUA, Jan 10: Former MLA Billawar and president DCC Kathua, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today alleged that farmers’ protest is the result of BJP’s politics of `lies and deceit’. Addressing public meeting in Dinga Amb area of Billawar Assembly today Manohar criticized NDA Govt at Centre for its adamant anti-farmer, anti-people attitude and said present farmers protest in the country is result of BJP’s politics of `Jhooth & Fareb’. He said farmers are representing 130 crores people of the country and he feels immense pain when these farmers are outraged by terming them as anti-nationals by BJP leaders. He also slammed remarks made by the BJP leaders on farmers’ protest, calling it “most unfortunate and condemnable. The government must find an amicable solution and address the grievances of farmers sympathetically instead of blaming them as gangs of anti-national elements.
DDC Members Administered Oath Across JK SRINAGAR: The elected members of maiden District Development Council (DDC) elections held in the history of Jammu and Kashmir were on Monday administered oath by respective district heads across all the districts of Jammu and Kashmir. On the occasion, 138 DDC members representing 138 Block Constituencies of 10 districts of the division swore in the name of God and pledged to bear true faith and allegiance to the constitution of India and also uphold the Sovereignty of India. Sanjeev Pargal/Fayaz Bukhari JAMMU/SRINAGAR, Dec 15: Ten persons died of Coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir while 346 tested positive and 460 recovered from the virus today. Among six fatalities in the Jammu region, two were women. Two Corona casualties each were reported from Kathua and Doda districts and one each from Jammu and Udhampur districts in Jammu region. A 40-year-old man from Lakhanpur and 68-year-old from Dinga Amb in Kathua district died of co-morbidities and COVID-19 in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu and Narayana Hospital Katra respectively. An 84-year-old woman from Damondha Bhaderwah and 70-year-old man from Near Masjid Sharif Nagri in Doda district died of Coronavirus at Community Health Centre (CHC) Bhaderwah and home respectively.
