BLACKPINK Has Two Albums With Over 1 Billion Digital Points on Gaon
BLACKPINK has not one but two albums with over one billion digital points on Gaon. The first album to do so is their first Korean-language mini-album, SQUARE UP, which was released on Jun. 15, 2018.
In addition, cignature was formerly known as C9 Girlz, prior to their debut.
On April 7, the same year, cignature released their second debut lead single Assa. And on September 22, cignature released their first EP Listen and Speak, which features Arisong as the lead single and their previous lead singles releases. The EP garnered positive reviews from critics, media outlets and fans, saying that the EP radiated youthfulness, was refreshing and unique.
As J9 Entertainment did not expect the sucess of Listen and Speak, the first album batch of the EP was sold out. The EP then went on to peak at no.21 on Gaon s Album Chart.
