TAWAU: The Federation of Chinese Associations Tawau (FCAT) has decide to cancel its annual Dragon, Unicorns & Lions Dance Performance Show, this year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic said its chairman Datuk Dr Lim Teck Kiong. The event is held at the beginning of the month each year in a conjunction with the Chinese New Year. It was learnt that all associations and religious bodies in Tawau have cancelled their Dragon, Unicorns & Lions Dance Troupe Performance. ADVERTISEMENT They included the Sabah Chinese High School Dragon troupe, Yi Wen Lion troupe (Pertubuhan Kebudayaan Kesenian dan Kesukanan Tawau), Hokkien lion troupe, Hakka Association Unicorns troupe, Ji Min Moral Uplifting Society Dragon, Unicorns & Lions troupe as well as Pu Zhao Temple lions troupe. ....

FCAT Chairman Datuk Dr Lim Teck Kiong said they had earlier distributed 1,500 sets food aid and another 800 sets in the second round last Saturday. He thanked Kuala Lumpur-based OPS Harapan for sponsoring more than 20 tonnes of food items, Pos Malaysia for free shipping of the items, Guan Yin Temple Tawau and local business operators for their contributions for the “Covid-19 Charity Programme.” ....
