Nearly 10 per cent children between the age of six and 17 years were not attending schools in the national capital, according to a socio-economic survey conducted by the Delhi government. The survey covering 1.02 crore people showed that these children either dropped out, discontinued school, or never attended it, primarily because of financial reasons. ....

Delhi and the national capital region (NCR) continued to reel under the hazards of air pollution as the air quality index (AQI) remained in the severe category third day in a row. The overall AQI in Delhi was recorded at 428 on Sunday (January 17), which is a small improvement over the AQI of 492 on Saturday (January 16), according to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR). ....

A team of the Central Goods and Services Tax (GST) Delhi West Commissionerate busted an illegal manufacturing unit of gutka, pan masala, and other tobacco products in Delhi, seizing goods worth Rs 4 crores. The officials estimated a total GST evasion of more than Rs 830 crores.
The information about the same was shared in a press release on January 2, detailing the materials and products seized from the site. ....

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday (January 1) registered a case against Shakti Bhog Foods Limited on charges of alleged fraud of Rs 3269 crores on a consortium of ten banks, CBI officials said.
Based on a complaint from the State Bank of India (SBI), which led the consortium, the CBI has filed an FIR against the managing director of the company, Kewal Krishan Kumar, along with its directors, Siddharth Kumar and Sunanda Kumar. ....
