Two injured in agg burglary | Dandenong Star Journal

A man and a woman have been injured during an aggravated burglary in Dandenong South early on Wednesday 7 July.
The 39-year-old Harkaway man was reportedly stabbed and the 27-year-old Pakenham woman assaulted at an industrial property about 12.30am, police say.
The woman was found in grassland at Ventura Place and was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The stabbed man was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Police say that a 43-year-old Dandenong man, who is known to the woman, is wanted in relation to the incident.
He was last seen by police driving a white-coloured van on Remington Drive, Dandenong South. ....

Council won't 'impose' townhouse road safety | Dandenong Star Journal

Greater Dandenong Council has stated it will not “impose itself” in response to safety concerns over the controversial siting of townhouses in Keysborough.
The council approved an amended permit for Keysborough Townhouses estate at 452 Cheltenham Road, with its western townhouses being built about a metre from a truck access road to HomeCo shopping centre.
Residents raised alarm about the lack of space for a footpath along the access road to the HomeCo shopping centre, child-care centre and Cheltenham Road bus stop.
The estate’s corner property Lot 1 stands just a metre from the corner kerb.
At a 28 June council meeting public question time, Keysborough resident Heather Louis said it was a “potential disaster waiting to happen”. ....

Modular stairs provide safe 2nd storey access in relocatable sheds

KOMBI modular aluminium stair systems provided a practical access solution to the Grove Group for their relocatable sheds constructed at the Level Crossing Removal project site in Dandenong VIC.
The Grove Group is an Australian owned and operated company that specialises in the manufacture, installation and hire of relocatable buildings for many industry sectors. Contracted to supply site buildings for the level crossing removal project, they were required to construct multiple sheds, several of them on a raised gantry.
Traditional wooden stairs or scaffolding could not provide the assurance of safety, durability and strength for accessing the second level of these sheds. Steel stairways would have been difficult and expensive to fabricate and install, given the inconsistent ground levels and surfaces. ....

Young cops lucky to be alive after patrol car flipped in crash

Two police officers have spent the night in hospital after their patrol car flipped in a crash at an intersection.
The paddy wagon collided with another vehicle on the corner of Walker and Thomas street in the Melbourne suburb of Dandenong about 6.45pm on Wednesday.
The two 23-year old officers were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

He escaped from the crash uninjured and is assisting police with their ongoing investigation.
Overnight bizarre footage of the incident surfaced on TikTok, showing the upturned police van and the other vehicle involved with extensive damage.
