March 8 - 2021 KHARTOUM The three rebel leaders sworn in as members of the Sovereignty Council in front of Sovereignty Council president Lt Gen Abdelfattah El Burhan and Chief Justice Nemat Abdallah Kheir (SUNA) Rebel leaders Malik Agar, El Hadi Idris, and El Taher Hajar have been sworn in as members of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council yesterday. March 5 - 2021 SARAF OMRA Aftermath of clashes in Saraf Omra on March 3 (RD) A cautious calm settled on the town of Saraf Omra in North Darfur yesterday after joint forces arrested a number of suspects and evacuated the wounded from the scene of clashes that killed 11 people and injured 32 others on Wednesday. Mohamed Khater told Radio Dabanga that “limited events and gatherings” took place yesterday, which the joint forces responded to “firmly” to take control of the security situation. He said only 40 per cent of shops were open at the market. March 4 - 2021 SARAF OMRA / GIREIDA / EL GENEINA The aftermath of violence in Gireida, South Darfur, after an attack by gunmen last year (RD) Darfur witnessed a surge in violence this week. 10 people were killed and 32 others were injured during tribal clashes in Saraf Omra, North Darfur, yesterday. In Gireida, South Darfur, 11 people were killed and 26 were wounded in tribal clashes and in El Geneina, West Darfur, a man was shot. A member of the North Darfur Security Committee, Maj Gen Yahya Mohamed El Nur, said in a press statement that joint forces managed to arrest a number of suspects and evacuate the wounded from the scene.
