Islamabad: The countrywide lockdown during the Eid holidays is yielding results and the numbers of daily deaths as well as new cases of COVID-19 are on the decline in the country. According to the latest data of the National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC), Pakistan reported 48 deaths and 2,517 new cases of COVID-19 in the last twenty-four hours. With these latest figures, the country’s total number of cases have jumped to 873,220 while the death toll stands at 19,384. According to the NCOC, after 30,700 tests in the last twenty-four hours the country’s positivity rate was 8.19 per cent while the number of active cases had also dropped to 73,398 from 75,000 a day earlier. ....
