Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar recently released the job security policy for Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) workers.
Mr. Kumar told the media at Transport Bhavan that the move would benefit the staff to a great extent. He also impressed upon the need for cooperation, and to increase the revenue of the transport juggernaut from the present ₹10 crore to ₹13 crore. He also said that several constructive measures were being taken to improve the performance of the TSRTC. ....

Update: More city buses will be on the road in Hyderabad soon. Chief Minister KCR gave the green signal to increase bus services from 50 percent to 75 percent.
Hyderabad: Good news for Hyderabad city bus commuters who are having trouble with TSRTC bus services. Chief Minister KCR has agreed to run 75 percent of the total city buses in Greater Hyderabad.
It is learned that the city bus services started on September 25 after the lockdown was lifted due to Covid. However, due to the Corona fear, only 25 percent of the buses in the city were initially allowed to operate. Later, it was increased to 50 percent capacity. ....

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was informed by officials at a meeting on Thursday that there was no way that the State road transport corporation could be bailed out of its financial crisis unless bus charges were hiked and the State government infused assistance to the corporation in a big way.
Lockdown effect
The officials brought to the notice of Mr. Rao that the RTC continued to reel under losses due to a steep increase in diesel prices, buses going off roads due to COVID-19 induced lockdown and accumulated losses of the corporation. Telangana officials deputed to monitor the services, says official
The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) is operating more than 3,000 buses to various destinations in Andhra Pradesh for the convenience of passengers visiting their native places. The special services, which began January 10 will continue up to January 18, to clear the festival rush.
“For the first time, TSRTC is operating such a huge number of buses for Sankranti, as part of the agreement reached with the APSRTC to operate our services to different destinations in Andhra Pradesh. The occupancy ratio is good,” a TSRTC official said. ....
