Four more credit unions join farm lending initiative

Cultivate has announced that its credit union farm lending product is now available in 11 new locations, bringing to 88 the number of credit unions offering Cultivate loans nationwide.
Cultivate is the collaborative credit union finance lending platform for farmers.
The four new credit unions, with 11 offices, which are joining the initiative are: Athlone Credit Union in Co. Westmeath; Connect Credit Union in Co. Louth; Drogheda Credit Union; and Glanmire Credit Union in Co. Cork.
Need for farm finance
Cultivate said that the announcement is an indication of the growing need for farmer friendly finance from credit unions. ....

The number of credit unions offering Cultivate farm loans has grown to almost 90 following the addition of 11 new locations.

€5,000 donation to Alzheimers' centre is welcomed by group


The Drogheda Credit Union has once again pulled out all the stops to help the local Drogheda Alzheimer s group realise their dream of a state of the art centre for the region.
The vision of the Alzheimer s group is where no one goes through dementia alone, and where policies and services respond appropriately to the person with dementia and their carers, at the times they need support.
Drogheda Credit Union is delighted to help with this vision by donating €5,000 towards the new Day Care Centre in Drogheda. Tredagh Lodge has always operated from a temporary facility, and now with local funding they are now able to relocate to a purpose built centre at a site at Greenhills Drogheda, kindly provided by Louth County Council. ....

South Louth shines at ceremony with a difference


The main awards may have gone to the north of the county but there was plenty to celebrate in the south of the county when the results of Louth Looking Good 2020 were announced virtually last Thursday night (10th).
Leading the prizewinners were Monasterboice Tidy Towns who won the Adjudicator’s Award for their comprehensive, pollinator friendly work programme while committee member Kathleen Smyth was Runner Up in the prestigious Environmentalist of the Year Award.
Killineer Cottages, always among the winners, came second in its category this year rounding off a terrific performance for marvellous Monasterboice.
The fishing village of Clogherhead was also highly placed on the winners podium winning the Most Improved Award with the adjudicators expressing amazement at the transformation in the village in the twelve months since their last visit while neighbouring villages of Sandpit and Termonfeckin were acknowledged with Special Merit Awards for their ever improving ....

It was an Awards Ceremony with a difference for Louth Looking Good this year with the results announced virtually for the first time in the competition s history.
The campaign is organised by Louth Tidy Towns Together, in partnership with Louth County Council, and is part funded by County Louth LEADER under the Rural Development Programme with its key objective being to acknowledge the unrelenting efforts of Tidy Towns volunteers throughout the county as they strive to present their local communities to the highest possible standard of environmental presentation.
