ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday said the government would discuss electoral reforms with the opposition members of parliament (MPs) including Shehbaz Sharif, and not the fugitives like Nawaz Sharif and Altaf Hussain.
“Many leaders of both opposition parties, PMLN and PPP, are part of the parliamentary system and want its improvement, while Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Safdar, Fazlur Rehman and others, who are not part of the system, want to disrupt it for their personal benefits,” the minister said while briefing media persons about the decisions of cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan. ....

Cabinet asks Navy, PAF to vacate state land - Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet on Tuesday directed Pakistan’s navy and air force to vacate state land that they had “encroached on”, especially in the federal capital’s National Park area.
The cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, once again invited the opposition to sit with the government to discuss important national issues, but said talks would not be held with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Maryam Nawaz and Altaf Hussain.
“They have no right to even lead their parties as they are not part of the parliament,” the meeting said. ....

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information Technology Syed Aminul Haq has said that the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom is fully committed to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in Pakistan.
He appreciated efforts of the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA), terming that revolutionary changes in the field of telecommunication in Pakistan were now being recognized all over the world.
Addressing the certificate distribution ceremony of GSMA Innovation Fund for Mobile Internet Adoption and Digital Inclusion winner, he said reforms in the telecommunication sector in Pakistan and the facilities provided to mobile operators have paved way for investment in mobile networking. ....
