​Matthew Brandon Baas is the recipient of Stellenbosch University s (SU) coveted Chancellor s Medal for 2020.
The Stellenbosch University (SU) student was awarded the degree BEng (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) cum laude on Tuesday, 15 December 2020, during a virtual ceremony for graduates of the Faculty of Engineering.
Baas has achieved the highest average mark ever recorded in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and the Faculty of Engineering. He achieved a final mark of 100% for more than a third of his modules, and has passed every year of study with distinction.
In addition, Baas achieved a mark of 100% for his final-year project. The project has been accepted for presentation at SACAIR, an international conference that focuses on artificial intelligence, and an article has been accepted for publication in the Springer book series enti ....
