A1 Telekom Austria Group accelerate 5G roll-out in Central and Eastern Europe


A1 Telekom Austria Group already provides 3.8 million Austrians with 5G, having activated more than 1,000 sites this year, in urban and rural areas.

SOFIA (Bulgaria), April 6 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria s communications regulator said on Tuesday it awarded 20-year 5G frequency licences with national coverage to the three main telecommunication companies operating in the country in a tender that fetched 13.4 million levs ($8.1 million/6.8 million euro).
A1 Bulgaria, a unit of A1 Telekom Austria Group, received a licence for using frequencies in the 3600-3700 MHz spectrum for which it proposed to pay a one-off fee of 4.7 million levs, the Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) said in a statement.
Bulgarian Telecommunications Company (BTC), owned by Dutch-registered United Group and operating under the Vivacom brand, won a licence for the 3700-3800 Mhz band with a proce offer of 4.6 million levs. ....
