Amy Hotchkiss and Kris Dickeson are ready to hit the pavement and assist businesses in connecting to existing supports under the ETSI‐BC Rural Business and Community Recovery Program. Hotchkiss is based out of the Creston Valley‐Kootenay Lake and brings a background in international economic development. “I am looking forward to meeting local business owners and hearing firsthand the challenges they are facing,” she said. “The Creston Valley is overflowing with potential to be a place where people can afford to live and work. Wednesday, May 12, 2021 Golden School House to be sold In 1939, with native stone, a rural school house was erected in Golden. The building is owned by the Cassville school district, but through a long-standing lease, is used as the Golden Community Center. Historically, the center has taken care of upkeep and repairs, but financially, the Cassville school district is still responsible. In 2017, the district approved for $1,500 to go toward new windows on the east side, as in 2015, windows on the west side were replaced. Previously known as the Golden School House, the building stands as a reminder, but most importantly as a use for library resources and the community events, like as a polling place, for the Golden community. ....
