Kirksville Fire Department responds to fire at Dairy Queen

The Kirksville Fire Department was dispatched to the Dairy Queen on Baltimore Street late Tuesday night.
Deputy Chief Travis Gregory said a call came in at about 10:15 p.m. about visible smoke and fire at the restaurant. When crews arrived, they saw smoke coming out of the northern side of the building. They went inside the building and still only saw smoke.
They then cut a hole in the northern side and flames came out of that opening. The fire was then contained in about 15 minutes.
Gregory said there wasn’t a suspected cause and that the State Marshall was coming for an investigation. Gregory said there wasn’t any kitchen equipment near the fire, but staff told him there was an outlet around that area.  ....
