Donie was a great servant to our county

Roscommon GAA have thanked Donie Shine for his dedication and commitment” to the county during his illustrious playing career.
Paying tribute to him, he was described by the club as “one of the greatest ever players to wear the Clann colours”.
Roscommon county board chairman Brian Carroll also gave a glowing tribute after hearing of Shine’s decision to call it a day.
“There’s always a tinge of sadness when you hear one of your sporting heroes has retired and that feeling is very much present this evening when I heard that the mighty Donie Shine is retiring from the game. Donie was a great servant to our county and his club Clann na nGael,” he said. ....
