Dylan Capperelli Sonora, CA – A Jamestown man has not been heard from in over a week and police are turning to the public for help in locating him. Take a good look at the man in the image box, as his family and Sonora Police, are asking anyone who may know his whereabouts or may have seen him recently in the Tuolumne or Calaveras County area to report it to detectives. He is Dylan Capperelli and has been missing since Tuesday, February 16th. Capperelli was last seen in the Angels Camp area of Calaveras County, according to Sonora Police spokesperson Thomas Brickley, who relays a family member filed a missing person’s report on that day. Falina Grell Sonora, CA – A neighbor foiled a burglary attempt when he spotted two people attempting to get into the back of a downtown Sonora home. The call came into dispatch around 5 p.m. last Wednesday, Feb. 17, reporting a residential burglary in the 200 block of West Jackson Street. SPD spokesperson Thomas Brickley recounts how a neighbor approached the alleged thieves, “A neighbor in the area noticed that somebody was inside residents and went over and tried to confront them, but the two subjects that were in the house fled before they could call 911.” One of the two suspects, 28-year- old Falina Grell of Sonora, did not get far and was found hiding behind a business in the area. She was taken into custody without incident. ....

Sonora Police Officer Thomas Brickley tells Clarke Broadcasting the department has received several reports of this type of crime over the past month. Scammers will use co-generators to grab random local phone numbers to show up on the caller ID to make it appear as though the call is from a legit person. Many times, the scammers have been posing as officials with the IRS and they try to prey on people by telling them that they need to talk with a US Marshall. Callers are then transferred to a fake US Marshall who tries to convince them to put money into prepaid gift cards. ....
