Now, India has its own gerbera varieties as scientists at the Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR) have developed six indigenous varieties of this flower, used extensively in decorations and bouquets.
Though the country’s floricultural sector has made rapid strides, it was yet to develop its own gerbera variety. The varieties being cultivated by farmers so far in the country were those from other places, particularly Holland. This had resulted in farmers paying higher costs for plants as the companies selling them had to pay huge royalties to Holland firms. ....

Mayor Tom Tate has today planted a weeping lily pilly at Evandale, as data shows the city’s green canopy continues to increase.
In three years, the tree will be four metres in height, adding to our city’s overall green canopy.
A 2020 report – Urban Tree Canopy Study – detailed extensive research into the Gold Coast Urban Footprint. The report found that, across the total area of public open space lands and critical environmental corridors within the Urban Footprint, the extent and maturity of tree cover has increased over the past 10 years. ....

A safe route for conducting sports and educational lessons has been set up in the Aktru Valley in Gorno-Altai, where the TSU Aktru Center for Collective Use and the Aktru mountaineering camp are based.
