SWIMMERS efforts in an altogether different challenge are being hailed for putting them in a strong position for the sport s resumption. Winsford Amateur Swimming Club s members and their families racked up around 14 times the number of miles set as the target of a walking mission during lockdown – pounding even further than the airline distance to Australia! What began as a bit of harmless fun to maintain an element of teamwork and active lifestyle turned into a fully committed and highly charged competition, not only between the swimmers but parents as well.

The Department of Conservation (DOC) has suspended public access to Twilight Beach Campground and Te Werahi Beach Track; Twilight Beach Track; Te Paki Stream Track; and Te Werahi Loop Track.
While it is unclear how dangerous the dogs are, DOC believes they could be threatening on more than one level.
DOC Kaitaia acting operations manager Abraham Witana said the animals may be disease carriers and could pose a risk to people and livestock. We re not too sure - obviously - how dangerous they are, but at the end of the day we don t know about their health checks.
Programs meant to provide economic relief to struggling small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic have left Leslie Fleuranges frustrated.
Fleuranges, owner of Tender Loving Care Pet Nursing Hotel in Topeka, tried to apply for such programs. But while researching her options, Fleuranges discovered she wasn t eligible for most of the government-funded loans and grants being offered by local, state and national entities.
Because Fleuranges opened her business last year, she isn t able to compare her 2020 revenue to that of previous years. And such comparisons are required of small businesses applying for those economic relief programs, such as the Paycheck Protection Program, as a way to demonstrate the coronavirus pandemic has had a negative impact on income.
