bonds: Bonds rally on Rs 35,000 crore buyback plan

on May 06, 2021)Mumbai: Government bond yields dropped below the psychologically important 6% level on Wednesday after the central bank announced a Rs 35,000-crore bond buyback programme on Wednesday as part of its latest pandemic-relief package.
Bond dealers, however, are cautious on the sustainability of the rally given the huge borrowing programme of the Centre and the states.
The benchmark yield on 10-year government bonds, which had closed the previous session at 6.02%, ended at 5.97%. Bond dealers, however, said that the small sizes in state loan auctions and cancelled government bond auctions, indicate that there is muted demand for government securities from buyers. As a result, despite the RBI support to the gilt market, yield is expected to remain range bound with an upward bias. ....

Nava Bharat Ventures jumps 7% as board approves Rs 150 crore buyback plan

Shares of Nava Bharat Ventures, on Friday, reversed early losses to trade 7 per cent higher in intra-day after the company board approved the plan to buy back shares worth Rs 150 crore.
The company, in a BSE filing, said the Board of Directors of Nava Bharat Ventures, at its meeting held on February 26, 2021, has approved the proposal to buyback fully paid-up equity shares of face value of Rs 2 each for an aggregate amount not exceeding Rs 150 crore.
The buyback price would not exceed Rs 100 per share, the company further said, adding that at the maximum buyback price and the maximum buyback size, the indicative number of equity shares that can be bought back would be 1,50,00,000 which would be 9.18 per cent of the total number of equity shares of the company. ....

Shares of Jagran Prakashan surged 18 per cent to Rs 57.65 in intra-day trade on Monday after the company on Saturday informed exchanges that its board would mull buyback plan during its next Board meeting.
The meeting of Board of Directors of Jagran Prakashan Limited is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, March 02, 2021, inter-alia, to consider the proposal for buyback of the fully paid-up equity shares of the Company, as well as matters related/ incidental thereto, the company said in an exchange filing.
The company also announced the closure of trading window from Saturday, February 20, 2021, till the conclusion of 48 hours from the conclusion of the Board meeting to be held on Tuesday, March 02, 2021. ....

New Delhi [India], January 15 (ANI): Government-owned gas distribution company GAIL Ltd on Friday announced a buyback plan of 6.97 crore equity shares with a face value of Rs 10 each representing 1.55 per cent of the total number of fully paid-up equity shares.
The company s board of directors fixed at a price of Rs 150 per share for an aggregate consideration of Rs 1,046.35 crore. GAIL s board also approved an interim dividend for FY2020-21 at Rs 2.50 per unit on the paid-up equity share capital.
The record date for dividend as well as for the purpose of share buyback has been fixed at January 28, the company said in a statement. ....
