swades skill card: Over 30,500 returnees registered for SWADES Skill Card: RK Singh

“As on January 25, 2021, more than 30,500 citizens have registered for SWADES Skill Card, out of which more than 24,500 (80%) citizens have returned from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries like UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain,” RK Singh, minister of state for skills development ministry said in response to a question in Rajya Sabha.

The skills development ministry, on Friday, said it has a database of 30,500 Indians who have returned from abroad during the pandemic and 80% of these are from Gulf countries.

Japan inks deal, to get Indian talent across 14 fields | India News


NEW DELHI: India and Japan on Monday signed an agreement which will enable skilled Indian professionals to live and work in Japan. An MoC (Memorandum of Cooperation) was signed by foreign secretary Harsh Shringla and Japanese ambassador to India Suzuki Satoshi.
The MoC covers 14 categories of specified skills under which skilled workers from India who meet requirements and Japanese language tests would be eligible for employment in Japan on a contractual basis. As per an MEA statement, “The 14 fields include nursing care, building cleaning, material processing, industrial machinery manufacturing, electric and electronic information, construction, ship-building and shiprelated industry, automobile maintenance, aviation, lodging, agriculture, fisheries, food and beverages manufacturing and food services industry.” These workers would work in Japan under the status of a specified skilled worker. ....
