NCDMB Partners ANOH Gas on Oil Industry Training Centre

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has commenced a partnership arrangement with the ANOH Gas Processing Company Limited for the completion of the Center for Skills Development and Training (CSDT) located at Greater Port Harcourt Area, Rivers State.
Construction work at the skill acquisition center had been stalled since 2014, due to paucity of funds after it was conceived by the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) to train and increase the competence and capabilities of Nigerians to meet the low-to-middle level human resources needs of the Nigerian oil and gas industry.
The Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Mr. Simbi Wabote, stated in a statement that the board commenced discussions with PTDF in late 2019 on areas of collaboration to complete and operationalise the center. ....

Singapore to contribute $28 million to IMF to help low-income countries tackle Covid-19 pandemic

SINGAPORE - Parliament on Monday (April 5) approved a contribution of US$20.57 million (S$27.7 million) to help low-income countries tackle the economic fallout of the pandemic, with Transport Minister Ong Ye Kung stressing that Singapore needs to do its part in an interdependent world.
The money will go to three initiatives under the International Monetary Fund (IMF). These are the Catastrophe Containment and Relief Trust, the Covid-19 Crisis Capacity Development Initiative and the Trust for Special Poverty Reduction and Growth Operations for the Heavily Indebted Poor Countries.
The first two funds aim to provide debt relief for the IMF s poorest member countries and help them meet urgent capacity development needs, while the last involves a US$970,000 grant to support the IMF s US$344 million financing package for Somalia s debt relief. ....

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has announced that Singapore is set to join the International Monetary Fund (IMF) s programmes to assist vulnerable low-income countries in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic s effect on their economies.
The total US$20.57m grant is subject to parliamentary approval on April 5, and will then be distributed the following IMF programmes: Catastrophe Containment and Relief Trust; COVID-19 Crisis Capacity Development Initiative; and Trust for Special Poverty Reduction and Growth Operations for the Heavily Indebted Poor Countries. ....
