Blotter: Fatal crashes, train vs. car crash, accidental fire

Train Vs. Car Accident – On Dec. 12, 2020 at 3:45 p.m., police were dispatched to a train versus car accident at the railroad crossing of North Lincoln Ave. Police learned that a 61 year old South Lebanon woman attempted to travel across the railroad gates after a westbound train had cleared the intersection on the southern RR tracks. She stated a few other vehicles also went around the gates; however, the gates were in the down position due to an eastbound train on the northern RR tracks. As she crossed the tracks, the train struck the front of her car, spinning the car sideways. The woman was not injured and the car sustained minor damage. The train stopped after impact and reported its speed to be 38 mph at the time of the accident. The Engineer and Conductor were not injured. Traffic citations will be filed against her. ....

Police share details on weekend crash that killed Lebanon motorcyclist

City of Lebanon Police released additional details on Monday, Dec. 14, regarding a fatal traffic crash which took place after noon on Sunday.
The incident took place at 10th and Lehman Streets, where police said that a car had been traveling west on Lehman Street and a motorcycle traveling south on 10th Street.

According to the release, the motorcyclist struck the right rear passenger door area of the vehicle, a Hyundai Tuscon.
Police said the motorcyclist, identified as 37 year old Jose Rivera-Rivera of Lebanon, was fatally injured in the crash.
Police said the motorcyclist had not been wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and was alone on the bike. ....
