Mysore/Mysuru: The city wore an eerily calm look for the second day on the Day 2 of the first weekend curfew of 2021 enforced to contain
COVID-19.
As the Police allowed essential services between 6 am and 10 am, people thronged supermarkets, grocery stores and vegetable markets in various localities. Today, over 80 check-posts were set up where the Police questioned people and motorists loitering around public spaces without any purpose.
Vehicle registration numbers were noted and motorists were warned they will be fined for needless movement. In a way, the city was smothered to silence by the killer virus for the second day of the weekend today. Not a single bus moved from either City Bus Stand or Sub-Urban Bus Stand. Except for hotels that were limited to takeaways and medical shops, all shops including milk booths were shut. ....

Mysore/Mysuru: A day after the
Karnataka High Court (HC) observed that it was probably the worst time for transport strike, Government bus services in the city and district saw a marked improvement this morning even as the indefinite strike launched by the employees of the four State-run Transport Coporations entered the fifteenth day today.
On Tuesday, the High Court, which heard a batch of petitions seeking intervention of the Court regarding the indefinite transport strike, had observed that it was not the right time to go on any strike and expressed the hope that public transport workers would call of their strike and resume operations without compromising on their demands. ....

Mysore/Mysuru: The ever-bustling
KSRTC Sub-Urban Bus Stand in city wore a completely different look with Private and Mini-buses dotting the bus stand, as the indefinite stir launched by KSRTC employees, seeking fulfilment of their nine-point charter of demands, including implementation of the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission, began this morning.
The strike was a total success in the city and district, with no KSRTC buses operating from the Sub-Urban and City Bus Stands since morning. While the KSRTC Sub-Urban Bus Stand saw a beeline of Private buses and other public transport vehicles waiting to pick up passengers, who were however less in number as compared to usual days, the City Bus Stand wore a completely deserted look, with no passengers nor buses. ....
