Pre-dawn collision Friday claims man s life north of Ocala
A two-vehicle crash on Friday morning north of Ocala claimed the life of one person shortly before dawn Friday.
The driver of a semi truck with a large flatbed trailer pulled out from a private driveway to turn west onto State Road 326. In crossing the roadway, the vehicle blocked eastbound traffic. The driver later told state troopers he was waiting for the westbound traffic to clear before moving.
As he was waiting, the driver said he noticed a car had turned right from north U.S. 441, and was approaching his vehicle. The car collided with the trailer, Florida Highway Patrol officials said. ....
