During a typical season, improvement usually comes relatively quick as additional varsity experience is gained, but due to the COVID pandemic it’s not been your “typical” season for the Blue Jays. The Blue Jays are among the numerous local basketball teams that have been impacted by COVID and the regulations and recommendations to help limit its spread. ....

(Photo courtesy of Fairfield Athletics) Fairfield Lions head coach Chad Hamilton earned a coaching milestone on Thursday, Feb. 4, as the eight-year head coach earned his 100th career coaching win in the Lady Lions’ victory at Grandle Gymnasium by a score of 73-23 against the Ripley Lady Blue Jays. The win was also a Southern Hills Athletic Conference victory, and in the 50-point win by the Lady Lions, they had a total of six players reach the scoring column. ....
