Hyderabad: Pharmacists are now eligible to work in state and central government hospitals, following the amendments in the Pharmacy Act by the Union ministry of health and family welfare.
The ministry has carried out amendments and regulations called Pharmacy Practice Amendment Regulations 2021. The demand had been raised by pharmacists from 2015.
 
They had pleaded that central and state government hospitals must have a clinical pharmacists department so that the medication dosage, antibiotic use, adverse effects of medicines and dispensation could be monitored. ....

Khoday Group, Dabur Research Foundation launches 'ViraNorm' to fight Covid-19


The drug is add-on therapy for asymptomatic and symptomatic Covid patients.
Khoday Group of Industries, a Bengaluru based company, has rolled out ViraNorm - ayurvedic immuno-modulator, which helps treat Covid-19 patients. Through the launch of ‘ViraNorm’, Khoday Group is entering the alternative medicine sector.
The drug ‘ViraNorm’ has been developed by Khoday Group in collaboration with Athera Dabur Research Foundation (DRF) LifeSciences.
According to the company, ‘ViraNorm’ has undergone Phase 3 clinical trials in the country for an ayurvedic formulation and conducted according to international standards of good clinical trials and is found to be effective in clinical trials and has been launched after subjecting it, thorough efficacy and safety studies. It helps to halt the progression of viruses in the body. So, this can be referred as an add-on therapy/medication for asymptomatic and symptomatic Covid patients. After audit, vacant hosp beds show up in Gzb | Noida News


Ghaziabad: At a time when ICU and oxygen beds are hard to find, private hospitals in the district have reported several vacant ones over the past three days. The reason, officials say, is a crackdown by the administration on private Covid facilities, most of which have been claiming full occupancy.
According to official data, there are 51 Covid hospitals in the district, including five government ones. Together, these facilities have 3,141 Covid beds, including 747 ICU beds. Till May 8, almost all ICU beds were full and only a few oxygen beds were available in some hospitals. But following a recent audit and subsequent meetings with hospital representatives, several vacant critical care beds were found. ....

Kerala caps charges of COVID treatment in private hospitals


Thiruvananthapuram:: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday said that the government has issued orders to cap the charges for the treatment of the COVID patients who directly get admitted there.
The COVID treatment is already free for the beneficiaries of Karunya Arogya Suraksha Padhati (KASP) and those referred from government hospitals to private hospitals empanelled by the State Health Agency. The tariff announced today will be applicable for the COVID patients who reach the private hospitals directly. This was necessitated because of the large number of complaints of overcharging and exorbitant billing by such hospitals and the subsequent intervention by the High Court. The rates were finalised after discussions with private hospitals, Kerala CM said. ....
