IREDA invites bids from module manufacturers for Rs 4,500-cr solar PLI

The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), a public sector undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), on Friday, invited bids for setting solar manufacturing units under the Centre’s Rs 4,500 crore Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme.
The Centre had approved the scheme to boost domestic manufacturing of solar Photo Voltaic (PV) modules. These modules also called solar panels, use sunlight as a source of energy to generate direct current electricity. IREDA is the implementing agency for the scheme.
The last date for submitting applications is June 30. The selection process for the successful bidders is to be completed by July 30. IREDA had floated the invitation for the application document on May 25 on its website and the electronic application process went live on May 31. ....

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy s proposal for the implementation of PLI (Production Linked Incentive) Scheme National Programme on High-Efficiency Solar PV (Photovoltaic) Modules was approved by the Union Cabinet on Wednesday (7 April). The scheme has an outlay of around Rs 4,500 crore, with which the scheme aims to achieve manufacturing capacity of Giga Watt (GW) scale in high-efficiency solar PV modules. This scheme is estimated to create an additional 10,000 MW capacity of integrated solar PV manufacturing plants with an investment of around Rs.17,200 crore. ....

Cabinet okays Solar Manufacturing Scheme for 10,000 Mw capacity under PLI

The Union cabinet on Tuesday approved the proposal of ministry of new and renewable energy (MNRE) for ramping up domestic manufacturing of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels under the ‘Production Linked Incentive’ scheme of the Centre. The proposed scheme is envisaged to create additional 10,000 MW capacity of integrated solar PV manufacturing plants in the country.
Under the PLI scheme, the Cabinet in November 2020 had approved Rs 4,500 crore for manufacturing of ‘High Efficiency Solar PV Modules. The nodal ministry MNRE thereafter proposed a ‘National Programme on High efficiency solar PV modules’ for the same.

New Delhi [India], April 7 (ANI): The union cabinet on Wednesday approved a production linked incentive (PLI) scheme with an outlay of Rs 4,500 crore to add 10,000 MW capacity of integrated solar PV modules manufacturing plants.
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, while addressing a press conference said, The union cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved high-frequency solar PV modules.
The government said that this decision would add 10,000 MW capacity of integrated solar PV manufacturing plants and bring a direct investment of around Rs 17,200 crore in solar PV manufacturing. The PLI scheme is likely to create direct employment of around 30,000 and indirect employment of 1.2 lakh. ....
