Longford women least happy with discussing health during pregnancy check-ups

The results are contained in a new Hiqa survey which examines how women felt during pregnancy check-up chats with their GP
Women in Monaghan were most satisfied with the time spent talking about the physical and mental health at check-ups during pregnancy. Women in Longford, on the other hand, were the least satisfied.
HIQA s National Maternity Experience Survey looked at the provision of maternity care by GPs, midwives and practice nurses.
The majority of women locally met with GPs, ranging from 90 percent in Longford to 94 percent in Roscommon.

In the findings, Monaghan was found to have the highest proportion of women who were most satisfied with the time spent discussing their physical health, at 64 percent. ....

HIQA report finds many new Donegal mothers miss check-ups - Highland Radio - Latest Donegal News and Sport

A HIQA survey has revealed significant geographical disparity when it comes to accessing postnatal GP care for women.
A report on maternity care provided in the community published this morning shows while most women in Ireland attend their two week postnatal check-ups, the numbers were notably lower for women living in counties in the north-west of Ireland.
Nationally, 84.7% of women attended their 2-week post-natal check-up with their GP. However, the numbers were significantly lower for women living in Donegal at 44.4%, Leitrim at 46.3% and Sligo at 47.1%. Of those who did not attend, most said it was because they did not know about it. ....
