Plenty of cooks swear by Le Creuset’s Dutch ovens and enameled cookware, but Staub might be the better option for hungry young people looking to spice up their kitchen. Founded in 1974, the French cookware brand – it’s produced in Merville – is popular with capital-F Foodies and at-home cook’s cooks, but doesn’t seem to have quite the visibility of its more-difficult-to-pronounce competitor. Which is surprising because Staub tends to be a bit less expensive, and while the color palette is more limited, the pieces are designed with heritage quality manufacturing and a timeless aesthetic.
