New Delhi, April 21 (IANS) Samsung defended its leading position in the global smartphone market in the first quarter of the year, shipping 77 million smartphones and capturing 23 per cent market share (a growth of over 32 per cent on-year), according to a new report.

Armin Laschet has won his rival s backing to run as the center-right candidate for chancellor when Germans vote in national elections in September.

A total of 94.8 billion yuan ($14.53 billion) worth of duty-free shopping volume was recorded as of the first quarter of 2021 in Hainan since the duty-free policies were put into effect in the southern province in 2011, Hainan Daily reported on Monday, citing data from the local customs office.
The duty-free shopping volume was generated from 122 million pieces of duty-free goods that were purchased by 22.58 million visitors, according to customs. ....

Strong demand led to selling more volumes resulting in price rise
The overall earnings in the auctions of Coonoor Tea Trade Association (CTTA) in the first quarter of current calendar (Q1) had risen by as much as ₹ 84.94 crore or 91.43 per cent over the same months of 2020.
This has happened because of 24 lakh kg more tea being sold even as the average price rose by ₹ 47.60 a kg, reveals an analysis of the market reports.
With North Indian teas are yet to hit the market in volumes due to the winter closure of factories there, upcountry buyers as also exporters scouted for teas from the South. That was when they discovered a general improvement in the quality of the Nilgiris winter teas. So, they paid a higher price and procured a higher volume. ....
