A wild elephant created terror on Tuesday night at Nagrijuli in Tamulpur subdivision in the district of Baksa.

NAGRUJULI: A wild elephant created terror on Tuesday night at Nagrijuli in Tamulpur subdivision in the district of Baksa.
A wild elephant was isolated from its herd. It came down from the Bhutan hills and entered the No. 1 Dongargaon of Nagrijuli at night. The lonely wild elephant that came down from the hills in search of food, demolished the houses of Subhadra Biswas, Nirmal Biswas, Ananta Mandal and Purna Biswas in the village and ate the rice in the store. The terrified villagers tried to chase the elephant by shouting and banging utensils but the wild elephant went back to the hills only in the morning. ....

Rajnandgaon: In an apparent case of medical apathy, a COVID-19 infected body in Chhattisgarh’s Rajnandgaon was transported to the crematorium on a tractor in Dongargaon village.
As no vehicles were arranged by the district administration to pick up the corpses of COVID-19 victims in Dongargaon and the family of the infected patient was asked to bring the vehicle, they loaded the body in a tractor and took it to the crematorium Rajnandgaon’s Chief Medical Officer Mithlesh Chaudhary said that it is not appropriate to keep the dead body a COVID victim at hospital, and the incident might have taken place in hurry. ....

Amidst the joy of Rongali Bihu, two wild mithuns created terror in Sahpur village of Nagrijuli in the district of Baksa on Friday.

BAKSA: Amidst the joy of Rongali Bihu, two wild mithuns created terror in Sahpur village of Nagrijuli in the district of Baksa on Friday.
The villagers said that the two mithuns strayed into the village in the morning. People gathered to see them. The two mithuns became aggressive and attacked people. A police team led by Nagrijuli police station in-charge Manoj Das reached Sahpur immediately after getting information. On the other hand, a forest team led by Ranger Pranab Das from Kumarikata forest range office as well as a team of forest officials of Tamulpur forest range office reached the village. Manas Shashi Khunggur Eco Tourism Society, a volunteer organization, also reached the village. Meanwhile, a total of eight persons, including Sufia Kh ....
