The baggy green cap Sir Donald Bradman wore on Test debut has sold for $450,000.
Australian businessman Peter Freedman, founder and chairman of electronics company Rode, bought the cap which was passed in after the initial online auction ended last week.
The week long auction for the cap, given to the legendary Australian batsman in 1928, managed a highest bid of just $391,500. ....

Bids fall short for 'the Don's' baggy green

An online auction for the 1928 cap ended on Thursday night with a $A391,500 bid.
Auctioneers had hoped to attract between $A1 million and $A2 million for the cap, which is being sold to pay creditors of the owner, former bankrupt Adelaide accountant and convicted fraudster Peter Dunham.
Sir Don Bradman s first test cap - bids fell well short of what the piece of Australian cricket memorabilia was expected to go for.
