A dispute over who should foot the bill for dozens of homeless people staying at a Perth hotel has taken an unexpected turn after it was revealed the two men running the venue are convicted fraudsters.
Perth City Apartment Hotel owner Eddie Kamil claims the state government owes him more than $40,000 for accommodating about 40 rough sleepers, who showed up in the days after Fremantleâs âtent cityâ was dismantled. ....

A Perth hotel owner says he is being forced to kick out homeless guests including young families and pregnant mothers because the WA Government is refusing to pay for their accommodation.
Perth City Apartment Hotel owner Eddie Kamil said guests arrived in late January after authorities moved to dismantle the homeless camp.
Mr Kamil said he had been under the impression their accommodation would be paid for by the Government, since it had housed other homeless people there. ....
