And as Gauteng battles in the midst of a third wave of Covid-19 infections, the remaining ambulances were suspended two weeks ago, causing more strain on the service. Health and Social Development MMC, Cllr Eunice Mgcina says all frontline workers in the City’s healthcare facilities will be jabbed with the Covid-19 vaccine as part of the initial phase of the national inoculation drive. To date, over twenty frontline workers in municipal healthcare facilities have received the injection, which helps their bodies build up immunity against the Coronavirus.
