Draft ‘blueprints’ for Shire released for public review
Nillumbik Shire Council has released four major draft strategic documents that will guide the future direction of the Shire for the next four years and beyond.
The draft Community Vision – Nillumbik 2040, Council Plan 2021-2025, Nillumbik Health and Wellbeing Plan 2021-2025, and Financial Plan 2021-2031 are now available at Participate Nillumbik for the community to review and provide feedback until Thursday 26 August.
Councillors endorsed the public exhibition of the four draft plans at Tuesday night’s Council meeting.
Mayor Peter Perkins said the strategic documents were developed with the community feedback from the Our People, Our Place, Our Future engagement program in February and March this year. ....

The Briars is our local treasure and has long been a place for the community to visit and connect with nature, heritage and wildlife.
Now, The Briars is stepping it up another notch by working with Food for Change to provide fresh produce to Peninsula’s struggling families.
On Saturday 22 May, Food for Change will begin farming a leased area at The Briars where they will grow and distribute fresh fruit, herbs and vegetables to families across the Peninsula, with the help of volunteers and aid organisations.
As well as growing their own produce, Food for Change will connect with local growers and rescue food from local supermarkets intended for Mornington Peninsula emergency relief providers, giving our most vulnerable communities access to a greater range of healthy food. ....
