The body of forty-seven-year-old Michael Escalante was found dumped on the George Price Highway just before midday on Wednesday.  The Belize Police Department is actively searching for Escalante’s missing red four-door Great Wall Wingle pickup truck that was stolen.  Escalante was found dead between miles thirty-three and thirty-four in a pool of blood.  Witnesses say that Escalante was shot once to the head and his body discarded by the killer or killers. Originally from Orange Walk, Escalante worked as a salesman for many years for German Vega and Sons. He reportedly had left Belmopan on that day and was making his way home when he was brutally killed. His brother Manuel Escalante says the family has no idea why anyone would want him dead. ....
