Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], May 15 (ANI): The state government ignores the expert committee and takes political decisions on issues such as the COVID vaccine shortage and erratic oxygen supply, alleged Dr HM Prasanna, Karnataka Technical Advisory Committee member on COVID-19 and the president of Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association on Saturday.
Speaking to ANI, Dr Prasanna said, Technical Advisory Committee is just in name and all decisions are political. If you have a technical committee, please respect it. It is a flip-flop for the government here. I wrote to the chief secretary last week to please ensure government vaccine supplies. The COVID-19 pandemic is far from being over in India, and across the globe. While the vaccine is still far away from the reach of many, the city of Ahmedabad added more fresh cases on Saturday (December 12) to take its overall tally to 53,714. A total of 260 new cases were brought forward, as per the Gujarat health department s revelations.
Talking about the deaths, five more patients succumbed to the viral infection. With this, the count of fatalities in the district rose to 2,165, it said. On the other hand, as many as 268 patients were discharged, taking the count of recoveries to 48,519, the department stated in a release. ....

Ahmedabad: Covid treatment billing disputes will now be solved by a redressal cell that has been launched by the city’s hospital association. The Ahmedabad Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association on December 10 launched Covid Patient Billing Complaint Redressal Cell.
A fine of 10% of the amount that has been charged in excess over the decided rates will be levied, according to the association. Any patient discharged from a designated AHNA Covid hospital after November 1, 2020, can lodge complaints.  ....
