County Partners to Deliver Holiday Meals | Alton Daily News

Elderly, disabled, and shut-ins in Madison County could receive a free meal this holiday season. The county is partnering with senior service agencies and local restaurants to deliver a special dinner next week.
Madison County Community Development is working with Senior Services Plus in Alton, Main Street Community Center in Edwardsville, and Highland Meals on Wheels to provide funding for the holiday delivery event. MCCD Program Coordinator Lisa Mersinger tells The Big Z the meals will be prepared by 10 locally owned restaurants.

The agency will be getting dinner from El Mezcal, Geno s 140 Club and Laux Brickhouse Grille in Bethalto and Good Knight Cupcakes and Cookies in Wood River will provide dessert. During the Thanksgiving season, an employee at Mother’s Catering, in Highland, helps organize meals for delivery. For Christmas, the firm will help seniors in a partnership with Madison County.
