Canton father arraigned in child s death in shooting accident
A Canton Township father is accused of unintentionally shooting and killing his 8-year-old son last month.
Nicholas Alexander Bennett, 33, was arraigned Friday  on a charge of involuntary manslaughter in Plymouth’s 35th District Court.
He will return to court later this month for a probable cause conference.
Wayne County prosecutors say the father was working on his rifle inside his Old Michigan Avenue home the afternoon of Dec. 15 when he fatally shot his son Jack, who was in the room.
The child died at a local hospital. ....
