Days after Watson Duke was re-elected president of the Public Services Association (PSA), his opponents have united in an attempt to overturn the election results.
In response Duke called on them to “take yuh licks and cool it” and focus on PSA duties.
Duke was re-elected for a third term in Monday s elections with 1,758 votes after a two-day wait for the final results. His team Game Changers will form the executive committee.
On Wednesday night Duke declared victory in a Facebook live stream with a document provided by the elections officer of the final total of votes. ....

Returning president of the Public Services Association (PSA) Watson Duke is urging disgruntled candidates and members to take up their concerns with the association s election committee, as he believes the voting process was free and fair.
The elections, held on Monday, came after three years of lawsuits raised when former candidate Gabriel Solomon questioned the validity of the PSA s voters list.
The elections were originally scheduled for November 23, but were delayed again to December 14 when High Court judge Nadia Kangaloo found duplications in the list presented by the association at the time. ....

Candidates who ran in the elections for the Public Services Association (PSA) executive are not pleased at the delay in the results, with one suggesting the slow counting was a ploy to tilt the outcome in favour of a particular contender.
The elections were held on Monday after three years of legal battles stemming from former candidate Solomon Gabriel s concerns over the voters list in 2017.
Initial results posted on the PSA s Facebook page on Tuesday suggested sitting president Watson Duke was in the lead, with Oral Saunders running a distant second. These figures were later deleted. ....

PSA members keep Duke as president


THE results are finally in for the Public Services Association (PSA) election, which was held on Monday, and incumbent president Watson Duke and his Game Changers team were victorious with 1,758 votes.
The results took longer than expected as one presi­ding offi­cer said special votes slowed the process as the votes had to be counted one by one for each team.
The Express understands the official results will be made public today by election officer Selwyn Malcom.
Second in the race for the PSA presidency was leader of the Uni­ted Public Officers slate Oral Saunders, with 562 votes.
The other contenders for president were Curtis Cuffie (Concerned Public Officers), who got 267 votes; Ian Murray (Labour Warriors), with 264; Nixon Callender (Team Sentinel) collected 250; and Gregory Cova (Premium Value) received 319 votes. ....
