The government today appointed Biman Managing Director and CEO M Mokabbir Hossain as the new secretary to the railways ministry.
The government also appointed Mokammel Hossain, additional secretary of public administration ministry, as the new secretary of Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry, said a circular of the public administration ministry.
Talking to The Daily Star, M Mohibul Haque, senior secretary of Civil Aviation Ministry, said he will go to retirement on January 5, next year.
The government is yet to appoint anyone as new MD and CEO of the national flag carrier. ....

The Public Administration Ministry in a gazette yesterday announced that some of the top bureaucrats have been transferred.
The gazette mentioned that Biman Managing Director and CEO M Mokabbir Hossain was among the officials transferred. But the ministry issued a similar gazette about an hour later without mentioning Mokabbir.
The official did not answer the phone when The Daily Star called to ask him whether he had been transferred to the Railways Ministry, as the gazette mentioned. ....

DHAKA, Dec 20, 2020 (BSS) – A national committee on monitoring and reviewing land service digitalisation has been formed to plan and coordinate digital land management activities across the country.
Other major activities of this committee are to determine the strategy of land service digitalization implementation, to provide policy and support for the implementation of digital services, to increase the dynamism of digitalisation activities and to improve the quality and publicity of digital services.
The committee will also work to ensure proper land service by ensuring transparency and accountability of work at the field level through regular monitoring and increasing its performance by identifying weaknesses. ....
