Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has inaugurated a steering committee for a 10-year development plan for the state.
Inaugurating the committee in Lokoja, the governor said the move was part of his administration’s quest to fast track the overall development of the state over the next decade.
He said the duties of members of the committee is to “provide overall leadership and guidance, in our various areas of jurisdiction, to ensure that, the right environment is created to have access to current data as well as put in place, a team of relevant minds that will work with the State Technical Committee, as members of Technical Working Group (TWG).” ....

BHUBANESWAR: Even as WHO has warned against use of Ivermectin to treat Covid-19 the global health body recommending its use only within clinical trials the Odisha health department has strongly recommended its use for home isolation patients. The government has asked the Odisha State Medical Corporation Limited (OSMCL) to procure 7.2 lakh tablets, the government said.
A presentation by the health department before chief minister Naveen Patnaik and senior government functionaries and district administration on Tuesday said the State Technical Committee, headed by Director Medical Education and Training (DMET) has recommended for use of Ivermectin for patients in home isolation.
“Use of Ivermectin is found beneficial in terms of minimizing the transmission in number of international clinical trials. Data suggest Ivermectin results in quick viral clearance with reduced Oxygen dependence,” the health department said. ....

Kwara State Deputy Governor and chairman of the State Technical Committee on COVID-19, Mr Kayode Alabi, has assured Civil Society Organisations and other Non-Governmental Organisations of the state’s willingness to partner with them in their quest to know the state government’s efforts towards mitigating the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the utilization of the COVID-19 fund.
Alabi also said that Kwara State was ready to make available all information required, as it ensured all monies spent are documented and made available for public consumption.
Speaking when he met with the delegation of CODE and Oxfam Nigeria at the Government House, Ilorin on Friday, the deputy governor lauded the NGOs for their efforts in building a better society, just as he highlighted some of the efforts by the state government towards mitigating the COVID-19 pandemic. ....
