New Delhi: Union Animal Husbandry Minister Giriraj Singh on Monday said that no scientific reports on the transmission of bird flu to humans have been found and the consumers should not be scared. 
The union minister also appealed to states to not shut mandis (wholesale markets) or restrict the sale of poultry products. Singh’s reaction comes as ArvindKejrial-led Delhi government today imposed a ban on the sale of processed and packaged chicken brought from outside the national capital. ....

New Delhi [India], January 11 (ANI): As the bird flu cases were detected across ten states in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said poultry farms, zoos, water bodies will have to be constantly monitored to contain the disease.
Prime Minister Modi also asked all states to remain on alert to control the spread of the disease.
Bird flu has been confirmed in Kerala, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, UP, MP, Delhi and Maharashtra. Poultry farms, zoos, water bodies have to be constantly monitored to control the spread of bird flu, said Prime Minister Modi today while interacting the chief ministers of the all the states ahead of the first phase of the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination programme. ....

New Delhi [India], January 8 (ANI): In the wake of mortality of poultry, crows, migratory birds reported from the states of Kerala, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh, the Centre held a meeting with the states to understand the status of the outbreak of avian influenza and to suggest measures to states/UTs for control and prevent spread of the disease.
Besides ensuring collection of representative samples and timely submission to the designated laboratories (RDDLs/CDDL/ICAR-NIHSAD), the Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India requested State Animal Husbandry departments to ensure effective communication and coordination with health authorities for close vigilance of the disease status and avoid any chances of jumping of the disease into humans. ....
