NSW News: Kayaker missing off Sydney s northern beaches

Marine rescue teams are searching for a kayaker missing off Sydney s Northern Beaches this morning. His paddling partner raised the alarm, reporting he had not seen him for some time after they set off from Longreef to Palm Beach amid choppy conditions. He is reported to have been wearing a lifejacket. READ MORE: The incident comes amid warnings from the Bureau of Meterology and Surf Life Saving NSW (SLSNSW) warnings of particularly dangerous surf conditions this weekend. The BoM this morning issued a hazardous surf alert as a low pressure system forms off the NSW coast. Conditions will be hazardous for coastal activities such as rock fishing, boating, surfing and swimming with people urged to reconsider being near the water today.

A lot of people surf brilliantly, jersey or no jersey, pro or local. It’s the event beyond the event. We asked photographer Simon Williams to record what he could of it all.
